Link Building Systems continues to diversify
SUCCESS in business doesn’t come easy. It demands hard work, continuous learning, and the courage to face constant challenges head-on while navigating a steep learning curve. This year, Link Building Systems celebrated 10 years in business, a milestone that reflects persistence, adaptability and a commitment to getting the job done, no matter how challenging or out of the box.
Founded in 2015 by co-directors Andy George and Cameron Wood, Link Building Systems began with a focus on underpinning and structural repairs. Today, it offers a wide range of end-to-end building solutions across Victoria and southern New South Wales, including new home builds, custom renovations and extensions, emergency insurance repairs, hydro excavation, and certified playground inspections.
“You have to learn a lot and learn it fast, to be successful and profitable. The first five years involved a lot of rolling the dice with unknowns. But once we found the right balance, we knew we were on the right track. You can spend a lot of time spinning your wheels and getting nowhere, but once we started gaining traction, things began to change. We could pay our bills, turn a small profit and begin reinvesting in the business. That was a real turning point,” Andy said.
The business’s growth has been shaped by its willingness to say yes where others say no.
“People usually call us for the weird and wonderful,” Andy said.
This reputation for tackling complex structural problems, often involving coordination with engineers, plumbers and insurers, has made the company a trusted name in the industry. Much of its work comes through referrals from professionals in related trades.
The past decade has brought both expansion and evolution. The company secured dual-state licensing, broadened its workforce and built a strong local presence based on responsiveness, technical know-how and community trust. Strategic growth continues, with Link Building Systems now pursuing panel builder accreditation and shifting toward a staff-led operational model.
As the business enters its second decade, Andy and Cameron remain committed to evolving and diversifying Link Building Systems, refining internal processes, investing in staff development and embracing innovation to meet the changing needs of clients and the industry alike.
