Spread over five heats, runners completed a 1,500m race around the Shepparton Athletics Track, while being cheered on by fellow spectators. SRC President Chris Nicholson said, “Our handicap races are designed to be fair for all runners of all abilities giving them a chance take the prize.”

SRC Coach Chris Armstrong said, “It was very encouraging to see the things you learned from last month being put into practice.

“It was another really fun atmosphere on track with everyone being very encouraging of each other out on track, well done!”

The winners of the second handicap for the year were William Ryan, Jeremy Ryan, Chris Mouser, Brody Hannan and Thomas Ryan. These winners receive a voucher from Intersport Shepparton.

THE FINAL SPRINT… Siblings Charlotte (7) and William (9) battle it out for bragging rights at the 1500m finish line.

The SRC run group training sessions each week catering for all types of runners and fitness levels, promotes running from shorter jaunts up to marathons.
