I am proud to live in such a generous and giving community and so proud to live in Australia which has given me and my family a life of hope, opportunity and a future. Something I will always be grateful for.
I feel very blessed but also want to help those doing it tough. It’s not something that I think a lot about, I see the need to help people and just do it. Through People Supporting People I am supported by my wonderful volunteers, and lately we have had some teenagers coming to volunteer on the BBQ on a Saturday which is really good. It teaches them that by giving up some of their time they are helping others less fortunate. I have been supported by many people in the community as well as businesses. It has been tough lately for many, and the support that has been given to me to help the community, and those less fortunate makes a difference. I say thank you.
There is something very special about living in the country and country people, where people are very connected and know each other, but also want to help people doing it tough. I see such kindness and generosity.
I see the struggles that some people have and the homeless who are just trying to get through day by day. If I can help in some small way by providing a meal or blanket I will.
