The true strength of a business lies in its ability to weather the inevitable turbulence of economic highs and lows. In a challenging year for the residential construction sector nationwide, Sessions Builders has continued to perform steadily, buoyed by its diversified service offering and steadfast commitment to client satisfaction. Co-director Clayton Sessions attributes this resilience to the company’s ability to adapt to changing market demands while staying rooted in its core values.

“The last eight to 12 months have seen strong demand in the high-end market – we’ve been consistently working on custom builds well over the million-dollar mark. At the same time, unit development work has kept us extremely busy, and over the past three months, we’ve seen a significant uplift in standard builds.”

This ability to move between market segments, from multi-million-dollar custom homes to townhouses and turnkey packages, reflects Sessions Builders’ client-first approach.

“We don’t like to shut down any particular type of construction work, obviously workload becomes the key factor in those circumstances, but by staying open to a wide range of projects, we do our best to keep all avenues open for our clients.”

With over 35 years of local history, the Shepparton-based business remains focused on building for locals, delivering tailored solutions to suit individual needs and budgets. While much of the client base is driven by reputation and referrals, Clayton says that competitive pricing remains a key consideration.

“At the end of the day, you’ve got to be able to match the prices to your client’s needs. It doesn’t matter what game you’re in – price matters.”

Sessions Builders will open a new display home in Seven Creeks Estate in March next year. Clayton is clear about the business’s ongoing commitment to customised offerings, encouraging new customers to speak face-to-face with staff about the company’s versatility and flexibility.

The company currently employs around 20 long-standing team members, reflecting its strong internal culture and professional continuity. As co-director, Clayton is candid about the daily challenges of running a construction business, from managing trade coordination to resolving issues in real time. Despite this, the reward for all the hard work remains, for Clayton and the team, not only in producing a quality build with minimal comeback but, most importantly, in achieving client satisfaction.

“Seeing a happy client take ownership of a high-quality home, that’s what it’s all about.

“In this climate, it takes real effort to deliver a premium product and it’s incredibly satisfying when you do.”
