Community Independent movement champion and former federal MP Cathy McGowan will visit Shepparton on Thursday, October 15, to support local Community Independent candidate Lou Costa ahead of the state election. McGowan, the first woman elected as an independent to Australia’s House of Representatives, will join Costa at a community event at the Peppermill Inn in Kialla from 6pm. The event, organised by Voices for Goulburn Valley, will give residents the opportunity to hear from both speakers, ask questions and learn more about the Community Independent movement. Drinks and dinner will be available, with prizes up for grabs on the night. People interested in attending are asked to email their intention to independentshepparton@gmail.com.
