GOTAFE has launched its “YOU’VE GOT THIS” campaign to let members of the community know they are supported to take the next step in changing their lives through education.

Mature-age Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR31120) student Tracey Burge is one current student who has never regretted telling herself “YOU’VE GOT THIS”.

Her advice to others considering study is “you can’t be afraid to try something different.”

“I’ve got a lot of determination – I don’t throw the towel in very quickly,” she said.

“If your heart is in it, and you’ve got grit and determination to succeed, then you should just follow your dreams.”

She entered an apprenticeship after landing a job at the School of Armour in Puckapunyal.

“It was suggested that I ask to do an apprenticeship and that’s where it all started,” she said.

“It is a good way to meet new people and I look forward to doing the hands-on work.”
