SEYMOUR V SHEPPARTON UNITED

Seymour will be looking to end a run of defeats when it welcomes Shepparton United to Kings Park.

The Lions won the opening day of the season before slumping to five consecutive losses to teams all vying for a place in the top six.

Coach Ben Davey knows the Lions need to start winning to avoid the risk of falling too far behind the top six teams.

United will come to Seymour fresh off a nail-biting win last weekend.

The Demons held onto victory by four points and they will turn to Joel Serra, Edward Adams, Adam Pigatto, Kaedyn Napier, Mitchell Trevaskis and skipper Kyle Clarke to try and lead the way against the Lions.

If they can keep the likes of Jack Murphy, Ben Rigoni, James Wooster, Riley Mason and Nicholas Quigg at bay then the visitors are every chance of an upset win.

Tip: Seymour.

BENALLA V MOOROOPNA

Mooroopna was dumped from top spot after experiencing its first loss of 2022 at home last weekend.

Coach John Lamont would have been bitterly disappointed by the performance of his Cats after a strong start to 2022.

Benalla would have left Deakin Reserve devastated after coming so close to its first win of 2022.

Some would say they were possibly stiff to not win a free kick deep its forward line which would have led to them having a shot after the siren to the win the game.

The free kick went to the Demons and the rest is history.

Chris Welsh, Will Martiniello, Josh Marchbank, Jordan Wolff and James Martiniello will be important for the Saints while the Cats will look to Jack Hunt, Christopher Nield, Kai Madgwick, Jack Williams and Dom Gugliotti to ensure the visitors come away with the win.

Tip: Mooroopna.

SHEPPARTON V ROCHESTER

Rochester will be looking to consolidate its place on top of the GVL ladder when it takes on Shepparton.

The Bears suffered a heavy defeat to this year’s premiership favourite and it proved a huge reality check.

Mitchell Brett, Edward Lindon, Tyler Bell, Jordan McGregor and Miles Rowlands will be the Bears trying to lead by example and the home team will be hoping Anthony Andronaco returns to give them a target up forward.

Shaun Atley, Jordan Harper, Nathan Kay, Mitch Cricelli and Joseph Atley will be important for the Tigers to ensure they get the win.

Tip: Rochester.

MANSFIELD V SHEPPARTON SWANS

Mansfield will be looking to consolidate its place in the top six when it welcomes the Shepparton Swans.

The Eagles take winning form in after accounting for Tatura at home last weekend while the Swans gave a good account of themselves in their loss to Rochester.

Sam Thomson, Jack Hutchins, Harry Mahoney, Ben Christopher (five goals) and Dirk Koenen will be important players for the Eagles today.

If they can continue their form and keep the likes of Andrew Riordan, Zac Banch, Bryden Squire, Ben Gilberto and Diesel Batey at bay, then the home team should take home the four points.

Tip: Mansfield.

KYABRAM V EUROA

This is going to be a fantastic contest.

And, Euroa won’t fear the trip across to Kyabram.

During the Bombers glory days, Euroa was one of the teams that actually went toe-for-toe with them.

Lachlan Smith, Thomas Holman (four gaoals), Jason Morgan, Joshua Dillon and Anthony DePasquale (three goals) will be the key players for the home team.

Brad Mangan and Mick Mattingly made their returns from their long layoffs recovering from ACLs and they would be better for the gallop.

No doubt, Mangan will try to have a greater impact and hit the scoreboard today.

Euroa will be buoyed by probably one its best four quarter games for 2022.

Coach Scott Rowan would have pleased with many aspects of today’s game.

Jacob Gleeson, Adam Giobbi, Jack Hellier, Ben Giobbi and Harrison Jarvie were outstanding in the win as was Tristan Davies.

If they can continue their good form, then the Pies are every chance to make it five wins on the bounce.

Tip: Kyabram.

TATURA V ECHUCA

Echuca will be looking to continue its good form when it takes on Tatura.

The Bulldogs showed patches of good form in their loss to the Eagles last weekend while the Green Machine was ruthless in brushing aside the young Bears.

Billy Cooper, Mitchell Elliott, Chris Ryan, James Bennett and Sean McAllister will be looking to continue their good form while the visitors will look to Jack McHale, Sam Willoughby, Daniel Willis, Cooper Willoughby (five goals), Logan Prout and Ben Reid to lead the way.

Tip: Echuca.
