Healthcare has come a long way

WITH the current $229M redevelopment of Goulburn Valley Health, formerly called Shepparton Base Hospital, we decided to take a look back at the local hospitals.

The Mooroopna Hospital was first established on the site in 1876, however the hospital was mainly built between 1910 to the 1930s. It was a major employer and the main hospital in the region until the Shepparton Base Hospital opened. This eventually saw the closure of the Mooroopna Hospital in 1974.
