The Goulburn Valley provides a supportive testing ground for arts practitioners and audiences to try new ideas and be bold and experimental in the dynamic exchange of creativity during an arts activity or presentation.
Regional arts practices have long since become much more than the “country cousin” to our metro counterparts, and Shepparton Festival is proud to be part of our region’s growing and flourishing arts ecology.
Art is often most inspiring when it unlocks potential in those who come to it unexpectedly, over time well before a creative project is finalised, ideas are considered and explored, unbounded by outcomes.
Lengthening the developmental work of art projects is imperative to deepening experiences for artists and audiences. A long-standing festival provides the platform for that to be possible and as I lead Shepparton Festival through its 27th, 28th and 29th year, I look forward to scaffolding creative relationships being built here.
