So, the challenges continue, we had hoped that things would settle and our new normal would appear. But alas, COVID-19 continues to influence our lives, or at least our social lives.
I’m still meeting “new” faces at events that have been here in Greater Shepparton for up to and over a year and who are still struggling to make connections. We are very happy to be closely connected to the Shepparton City Council’s Community Connector Program.
The biggest challenge for the GV Young Professionals at the moment is getting people out of their houses and interested in events again, but things are looking up, if the success of our trivia night in July is anything to go by. We are also excitedly planning our GVYP Glitz & Glam party for October this year on the rooftop of the amazing Shepparton Art Museum.
My future aspiration for the GVYP would be to have an opportunity to connect our members with community volunteering options and strengthen people’s connection with this amazing place we live and work in.
