Passionate and knowledgeable through her extensive horticultural experience, Billabong Garden Complex manager Tracy Lamont said, “Natives in Australia are best planted in winter so that they can root in before the warmer weather.

“It is a good time to plant now because these plants can more easily hydrate, and natives are generally frost hardy. Natives are also naturally supportive of indigenous wildlife, it’s your number one key for attracting bees and birds for pollination and of course, natives are your most resilient choice.”

Dedicated to stocking a wide selection of plants, both native and exotic, Billabong Garden Complex holds, ‘If we don’t grow it, we stock it,’ so why not pop in and brighten up your garden this winter and/or sow the seeds for a glorious spring with something in store for everyone.

And while you’re enjoying the colour and greenery, don’t forget to treat yourself to a delicious lunch and coffee at Ruby Saltbush Café.
