In the engine room of regional industry, where agriculture, food production and manufacturing intersect, Drives for Industry (DFI) is crucial to the supply of power transmission equipment and engineering supplies that keep production moving and supply chains fluid.

Based in the Goulburn Valley for nearly 40 years, the business has carved out a reputation not just for reliability but for its deep-rooted commitment to service; picking up the phone at 2am, driving across state lines, if need be, to get production back on track before sunrise.

“We’re always available to our customers,” said Director Glen Wilson. “That’s never changed. We built this company on service and quality, and we’ve kept that promise every day since.”

Proficient, responsive and prepared to meet urgent demands, whether it’s traveling to a customer site for conveyor belt repairs or delivering pallets at short notice, DFI continues to invest in the tools and technology that keep it at the forefront of its field, while remaining focussed on its client-first ethos.

Based on demand, DFI are regularly updating software and tooling for their CNC router, to meet their customers requirements, which allows the team to machine engineering plastics and cut rubber to exacting specifications from customer drawings. It’s the kind of precise, technical work that most businesses would outsource, but at DFI, it’s done in-house, on demand.

Their vulcanising presses are another quiet powerhouse, enabling DFI to join conveyor belts on-site or in their workshop, an essential service in industries where every minute of downtime counts.

But it’s not just the equipment that sets DFI apart, it’s the people. With over 90 years of combined industry experience, the team blends time-tested technical know-how with fresh energy and forward thinking. The result is the deliverance of practical advice; innovative solutions and a deep understanding of what clients truly need.

From power transmission systems to pneumatics, bearings, belting and engineering plastics, DFI has developed a knowledge base that rivals much larger firms, while retaining the agility and customer focus only a locally owned business can provide.
