WHEN you meet someone who has worked in an industry for over thirty years, it becomes quite clear that they must be extremely passionate about what they do and who they work beside.
Meet Fairleys Supa IGA store manager, John Mourmourkis, with a curriculum vitae dating back to 1990 within the Australian supermarket industry.
John, who has lived across Victoria and New South Wales during his career, has now resided in Shepparton for ten years with his wife Sharon. He said that Shepparton has been a welcoming community and has been a lovely place to raise their five-year-old son, Channce.
With no more moves on the horizon, John said that he is very settled at Fairleys Supa IGA and feels blessed to have a supportive team above and below him.
“I am incredibly happy where I am and extremely passionate about my management role here alongside so many amazing team members.
I really enjoy the freedom in the framework that this independent store offers. It allows me to listen to our customers and really make important decisions and changes to suit the store and the people who shop here,” he said.
“It is a wonderful place to work every day and I feel privileged to support the company in growth and the team around me. I am always looking for future leaders but there are always employment opportunities across all departments too,” said John.
“I started in produce 30 years ago, the opportunities are ongoing and extremely rewarding,” he added.
Fairleys SUPA IGA is located at 177-193 Numurkah Road, Shepparton. “A wonderful place to shop and work,” said John.
