Boasting a magnificent view overlooking the stunning Nagambie Lake, the new state of the art Nagambie Visitor Information Centre has to have one of the best views in town.
Situated in prime position at the end of Jacobson’s Outlook and peering out over the iconic Black Caviar statue, the new centre was officially opened last week by Strathbogie Shire Council in conjunction with Nagambie Development Enterprises, complimenting the adjacent, recently opened Nagambie Brewery and Distillery and Ma Forbes Kitchen.
The modern, open layout of the Visitor’s Information Centre effectively incorporates Strathbogie Shire Council’s customer service and information services, which operate out of the centre concurrently.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor, Amanda McClaren said the new and improved information centre has arrived at a great time for the town, with tourism and economic development booming.
“The volume of tourists and visitors making their way to Nagambie is no surprise to local residents as we witness more and more people choosing Nagambie as a holiday destination and a place to escape for the weekend.
“Council approved approximately $33.5 million worth of development across the Strathbogie Shire last year, and Nagambie and surrounds accounted for more than half of that development,” Cr McClaren said.
Nagambie Lake brings huge numbers of visitors for countless regattas, competitions and training camps, particularly GoFish Nagambie on ANZAC Day weekend, which attracted over 20,000 people to the region.
The new Nagambie Visitor Information Centre is located at 293 High Street, Nagambie and is open from 10am until 4pm, seven days a week.
