IN celebration of their newly revamped home at Vibert Reserve, the Karramomus Cricket Club are pleased to present a special fund raising event on Saturday, March 4 with non-other than cricket legend, Merv Hughes.

One of Australia’s most feared fast bowlers, the infamously moustachioed cricketer will auction a selection of signed sports memorabilia on the night, with all proceeds going to the club for new equipment upgrades and replacements.

Having utilised a shipping container for club space while the pavilion at Vibert Reserve was being redeveloped, club president Nathan Delahey said the fund raiser would mark a thrilling return to the club’s social priorities.

“Such a big part of our sporting club is about the social side and although we’ve managed to catch up a few times at other venues during the redevelopment, the Merv Hughes event will mark a return to what we really enjoy as a community.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Merv to Karra and being entertained by his stories… and to hear his thoughts on current cricketing issues. What better way to hold our first official event than with the legend, Merv Hughes!” Nathan said.

Beginning at 7pm, the Merv Hughes auction is open to one and all, with tickets $150 per person which includes food and drinks (for three hours).

With the event capped at 80 guests, you can call Nathan on 0438 418 148 for more information and/or visit www.trybooking.com/1012296 to book tickets.

The pavilion, home of Karramomus Cricket Club, is at Vibert Reserve, Archer Street, Shepparton.
