Village Cinemas Shepparton is having a special screening of The Motherland, from award-winning writer, director, executive producer and former Shepparton resident Kanishka Rajapaksha.
The Motherland is a feature documentary exploring Sri Lanka through the experiences of diaspora communities and their intergenerational journeys of memory, identity and belonging. The film highlights how Sri Lankan stories continue to live, evolve and contribute to multicultural Australia.
Founder and CEO of MAN TV (Multicultural Australian Network Television), Kanishka has more than 22 years of experience across theatre, film, television and media in Sri Lanka and Australia.
