A yummy new place to grab a bite to eat has opened up at Billabong Garden Complex called Ruby Saltbush Café.
Qualified chef, Shaun, has developed a delicious menu inspired by seasonal produce, and as the name suggests, you will see a little

Ruby Saltbush influence too, with some dishes that feature this pretty, salty, sweet indigenous native plant. There are also find gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options available. Like Billabong, Ruby Saltbush Café is a social enterprise of ConnectGV.

“We are excited to be operating our own café is an extension of the Billabong experience that locals and visitors have come to know and love,” said Complex Manager, Tracy Lamont.”In the future, the café will also provide a wonderful option for work experience and training opportunities.”

The Ruby Saltbush is a native plant, indigenous to our region and is grown at Billabong Garden Complex. The little saltbush is characterised by its tolerance, sustainability and flavours of life, from sweet through to salty.

“We think the charm of the Ruby Saltbush resonates with ConnectGV and Billabong Garden Complex, in that it represents our drive for inclusion/tolerance, to be sustainable and deliver on an array of activities that provide choice and have purpose and meaning,” said ConnectGV CEO, Carolynne Frost.
