160,000 litres transported from the Goulburn Valley to Sydney daily
TRUCKING milk has been a 70-year family affair for the nation’s largest independent farm milk collection and milk linehaul business. McColl’s Transport carts an extraordinary 20 percent of all the milk produced in Australia.
Established in 1952 as a family-run business with a single vehicle transporting milk around Geelong, Victoria, McColl’s has grown to become an integral part of the Goulburn Valley. They truck 160,000L of milk to Sydney daily from the Goulburn Valley, contributing significantly to local industries. Making them a major employer in the region, with more than 100 people employed locally.

Their ongoing growth helped by the company’s size, reach, capability and experience, allowed McColl’s Transport to expand its Shepparton and Tongala operations last year, which generated 10 job opportunities for professional drivers, working four days on, four off, and provided on the job training for the new employees.
With operations in every mainland state, McColl’s Transport moves 2-3 million litres of milk each day, with 90 percent of their depot to farm collection of milk products going to local processors. Boasting a fleet of more than 260 prime movers and 770 tankers and trailers. Locally they have 30 trucks, and a team of 105 drivers and mechanics to maintain their fleet and equipment.
