Local business spreads its wings

AS statistics indicate, the construction industry is the second most productive across the region, which shows just how successful the sector is at increasing the local input value and assisting in continuing to build the region’s future.

Operating out of the region for over 30 years, with recent owners, Daryl and Maree Emmett taking over in July 2018, GV Carports and Patios has been continuing the business’ success, completing many domestic builds throughout the Goulburn Valley over the past 12 months utilising Australian made products and providing quality workmanship.

Daryl, who has had over 38 years in the building industry, said, “Personally, I have always maintained a high standard to anything I build, showing pride in achieving great outcomes for each client.

“Over the last 12 months we have travelled to Yarrawonga, Numurkah, Kyabram, Nagambie and Benalla as well as Shepparton, Kialla and Mooroopna, building carports, patios, verandas and pergolas.

“We are proud to employ local people (four full time employees and two part time) and use local businesses to help us achieve a high standard of finish. The Flashing and Roofing Shop, Goulburn Valley Powdercoaters and Goulburn Valley Flashings to name a few. We also have our 1977 F350 trucks maintained by Ted Cahill Motors.

“We are currently adding to our FTruck fleet by restoring a 1976 F350, it should be joining us on the road by the end of the year.

“By being local, we have an understanding of what is necessary for projects to be successful.

“Having great employees with years of experience that we can trust to complete jobs to a high standard is the backbone of a successful business. We thoroughly believe spending local helps boost the economic outcomes of the Goulburn Valley.

“All our projects are built in-house to each individual job specifics, which sets us apart from some others as we can tailor to suit unusual shaped blocks and styles. We also take care of the building permit required, and as registered builders, you can trust that we are building to regulations and can have confidence in your project being built to a high standard,” Daryl said.
