Throughout the continuing construction boom across the Goulburn Valley, the support provided by local businesses is not only proving that it is the strong local backing pushing the region forward, but that innovation and ingenuity are key to a continued success.

One such business, PJ’s Concrete Pumping, was established by Peter Don in the year 2000. From humble beginnings, the pumping business now has 17 personnel and operates a fleet of 10 pump trucks, ranging in size from 25m through to 42m booms, with the main hub located in Shepparton, and satellite sites in Echuca, Yarrawonga and Wangaratta.

Although the business has been involved in many construction projects across the region, more recently the team has worked on sites including the 7-Eleven in North Shepparton, the BP Service Centre in Benalla Road, the 7-Eleven and associated development on the corner of Archer Street and Benalla Road, the retail complex surrounding Anaconda, the Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence, Maude Street Mall urban redevelopment, All Saints Anglican School in North Shepparton, GV Hospice redevelopment, Wunghnu solar farm, and the precast plant at Benalla (Westgate Tunnel Project) to name a few.

Owner, Peter Don said, “It is exciting to see that throughout the Goulburn Valley everywhere we look we see involvement – SAM, Court House and Pactum Dairy to name a few.

“The commitment to customers has always been at the forefront for us. Over the last few years when dire staff shortages affected PJ’s Concrete Pumping and a large number of businesses throughout Australia, rather than close the doors and let customers down, I felt obligated to resolve the situation. Subsequently we invested heavily in bringing experienced overseas concrete boom operators to the Goulburn Valley. Not only has this strengthened PJ’s Concrete Pumping, but reinforced the commitment to the customer.

“Recent upgrades to specialist pumping equipment further demonstrates the business ethos of providing the customer a professional, reliable and seamless service.

“The success of the business not only benefits the employees, but the customers, suppliers, families and people of the Goulburn Valley. We all reap the benefits,” Peter said.
