THE 100 percent Australian-owned and operated HW Greenham & Sons, is transforming its Tongala processing facility, creating an additional 230 new full time jobs.

The most significant capital investment in the company’s history will see the new state-of-the-art facility produce premium quality beef for more than 25 countries around the world and create new employment opportunities for the local community.

Greenham managing director, Peter Greenham said while in the past the Tongala facility had been focused on producing lean grinding meat for export markets, Greenham’s more recently acquired facilities in Tasmania and Gippsland had built an enviable reputation for producing high-quality beef brands, including Cape Grim, Bass Strait, and Altair Wagyu.

“Tongala was our first home, and we’re pleased to invest in the facility as we see an exciting opportunity for the Goulburn Valley region within the Australian beef industry,” Peter said.

“Our brands are strongly supported by Australian cattle producers who are part of Greenham’s lifetime traceable programs, which give access to key retail and foodservice customers, and this expansion at Tongala will allow our business to grow with that demand.

“It also provides new opportunities for beef producers in the Goulburn Valley to join our supplier program, and for locals in the community seeking career opportunities at a growing state-of-the-art workplace.”

The new facility will be custom designed with the latest processing equipment, increasing Greenham Tongala’s production capability from 50t/day to 200t/day and opening access to more than 10 new export markets.
