HAVE you ever wondered what may be under the Criterion Hotel in Rushworth? Well, here are some photos of the quite extensive cellar underneath.
Rumour has it that it was once used as the morgue, with another well-known rumour being that there may be a tunnel leading off to where the Wigg brewery was over the road, where the IGA is now.
There is a bricked-up section where such a tunnel would be, so it would be interesting to move a brick or two to see if this was the case.
