Decorating and styling your home may seem like an expensive and time-consuming task, but there are ways to still make a statement in your home without spending too much money.
Use what you’ve got
Move paintings, tables, and even china from room to room. Change the furniture arrangement, reupholster existing pieces, paint your wooden furniture, or add new knobs to a soulless cabinet. Often many of the things you own are fine, they just need a tweak to make them fresh.
Get your DIY on
You can make your own stunning pieces throughout the house, or as mentioned above you could also upcycle existing pieces around your house. Paint your own wall art, spray paint picture frames or the legs of your bar stools. You can get even more creative and knit a throw blanket, or make some pottery.
Organise your rooms and declutter
This immediately makes the room look bigger, cleaner and more upscale. The best part about this is it costs basically nothing and will simplify your living space.
Second-hand treasures
You can find some great pieces of décor and furniture at local op shops at great prices. Some pieces may just need a lick of paint or some new fabric to make them look brand new again.
Add some foliage
Having plants and flowers in every room is a wonderful way to breathe life, warmth and colour into your home, but buying fresh flowers can be costly, and caring for plants time-consuming. For a cheaper and more low maintenance option, go with faux (they’ve come a long way and are very realistic looking these days) or dried blooms – either way, they look amazing and last a lifetime!
